The Children of 1917 Speak

Created by Russian Life

The Children of 1917 will offer an amazing journey through time. Together we will learn about the lives of some remarkable survivors: Russians who not only were born in the tumultuous year that was 1917, but who then lived through Civil War, industrialization, collectivization, Stalinism, World War II, the Cold War, Khrushchev, the era of Stagnation, the collapse of the USSR, and the turn of the twenty-first Century.

And Now For Something Completely Different

Hello Children of 1917 Backers:

The trip is long past, the film is streaming online, and the books have shipped (and hopefully arrived at all their destinations). So, what next?

Well, the Great Resilience Road Trip Across America, of course!

Actually, we're taking the film to Rensselaer, NY (across the river from Albany) tonight, and then to other spots around New England this spring.

So this is just to keep you in the loop, as it were, and to give you the opportunity to be involved and/or help us promote the summer's trip. If you live along the route, we'd love to see you at an event or meet you along the way. If you are part of an active group of Russophiles (say a US-Russia Sister City group) that is along the way, we'd really love to connect.

Meanwhile, thanks again for your continued support and we hope you are enjoying the book!

That's All Folks!

Today, one year and one day from when this project was funded, we can officially close it.

The film was released on November 7, 2017 and is available on streaming. (The public World Premiere is on Sunday, at the Green Mountain Film Festival.)

The books shipped out last week and are already being read all over the world.

And the ebooks have just been fulfilled today. (If you are owed one, you will get an email; be sure to check spam folders, these things can go astray.) They are also available via Amazon Kindle store, Apple iBooks, and at BN.com.

If you did not get something you should as a backer, do let us know and we will track it down. Meanwhile, enjoy the fruits of this important effort, and thank you thank you for all your support and encouragement. It has been a life-changing experience.

In the coming weeks, we will be setting up some "road show" showings of the film in New England and potentially down the East Coast, with a book signing. If you are in these areas and wanted to put a group together for such an event, do reach out to us.

Now we have to get back to planning our "next big thing"...

Dear Backer:

It is now 350 days since The Children of 1917 project was funded, and we are excited to report that the books are in house (they look great), and packing and shipping has begun!

A bit of a snafu with a large winter storm predicted for today, so we will be waiting for the snow to clear a bit before shipping them out, likely Friday morning. But lots of packing to do in the meantime!

Thanks again so much for your support and backing over this long year of work. It is very exciting to be able to finally share these books. And we look forward to hearing your feedback (and we hope you will also share info about the book and film on social media).

We're excited to announce that the book went to print this week. We should have received, packed, and shipped all books by March 15, less than a year after we were all funded up!
