Dear Valued Backers!
As 2017 draws to a close, we wanted to give you an update on where things stand with the Children of 1917 project you generously backed.
- THE FILM ~ RESILIENCE, is done and in the wild! It can be viewed here (in English or Russian, with subtitles or without). If you backed this project at a level allowing you to watch the film via streaming, you were sent an access code. If for some reason that email fell into your spam folder, reach out to us via email ([email protected]) and we'll be happy to re-send that to you. (We are also investigating how to deliver the film via DVD.) The film will have its first mass screening in the US in March, at the Green Mountain Film Festival...
- THE BOOK ~ We are on schedule and in the home stretch! We are furiously editing, proofing, moving photos around, arguing about how best to present these amazing individuals' stories. It is going to be a truly wonderful book. It will go to the printers in January and be mailed to backers before the end of March.
- RUSSIAN VERSION ~ As we started working on the BOOK, we realized, "Hey, shouldn't this book be available in RUSSIAN? You know, so that RUSSIANS can read it?" So Mikhail set up a crowdfunding effort to support the translation and preparation for publication. The crowdfunding effort ends on December 31 and still has about $3000 to raise. We'd love to have you join it! If you can read Russian, you can support this effort directly on the Planeta.ru site. If you don't, you can back it through our webstore here. JUST 10 DAYS LEFT!
We feel truly lucky to have been able to work on this project on your behalf, to collect these amazing centenarians' stories and preserve them for the world. They have moved us and made us look at life and the world very differently. Which is why we so look forward to sharing them with you.
Thank you for all your support on this important effort in 2017. May you and yours have a beautiful holiday season and welcome the New Year in the presence of family and friends.
Yours,
Paul, Mikhail & Nadya
